Zimbabwe's Fight for Independence: Aspects of ZANLA's Guerrilla War

This book examines facets of the guerrilla war that was waged by the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) forces against the Rhodesian colonial army during Zimbabwe's war of liberation. It also focuses on the contentious issue of the interaction between the guerrilla fighters and the African people resident in the war zones. The book challenges the view that the liberation fighters used force and intimidated the rural population to support them and participate in the war. It further argues that the rural population willingly participated in the war on the side of the ZANLA forces because both groups wanted to get rid of the obnoxious colonial system.
